What does the word Family stand for and what does it mean?

Your family should be the most important part of your life after God. We know that we are to put our worship and praise of our Lord, Jesus Christ before everything, but then it’s our family. The following story is appropriate to open our eyes as to how some of us might act.
I ran into a stranger as he passed by. “Oh, excuse me,” was my reply.
He said, “Oh, excuse me too; I wasn’t watching for you.”
We were very polite, this stranger and I. We went on our way and we said goodbye.
But at home a different story is told. How we treat our loved ones, young and old.
Later that day, while cooking the evening meal. My son stood beside me very still.
When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. “Get out of my way,” I said with a frown.
He walked away, with his little heart broken. I didn’t realize how harshly I’d spoken.
That night, while I laid in my bed, God’s still small voice spoke to me and said.
“While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse.
Get up and go look on your kitchen floor. You’ll find some flowers, there, by the kitchen door.
Those are the flowers he brought to you. He picked them himself, pink, yellow and blue.
He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his eyes.”
By this time, I felt very small and from my eyes tears began to fall.
I quietly went and knelt by his bed, “Wake up, little one, wake up.” I said.
“Are these the flowers you picked for me?” He smiled, “yes, I found them out by the tree.”
“I picked them because they are pretty like you. I knew you would like them, especially the blue.”
“I said, “Son, I’m very sorry for the way I yelled at you, today.”
He said, “Oh Mom, that’s OK, I love you anyway.” I said, “Son, I love you too and I do love the flowers, especially the blue.”
Thought!
If you die tomorrow, the company you work for, can and will replace you in a matter of days. Your friends will be sad and miss you for a while, but the family you leave behind will miss you for the rest of their lives.
If you think about it, most of us get more involved in our work than we do with our families. That isn’t very wise, is it?
