Where can you go to hide from God? We’ve heard many say, “Yes, I’m saved, but I’ve walked away from God.” Where did you go? God is everywhere. There’s no place, in the universe, you can go to get away from God. God is watching and he’ll allow you to go down your road of deception as long as you want to run. Chastisement does not always come with the sin. God is keeping score and He’ll correct His children at the right time. In Revelation 3:19 Jesus says, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be Zealous therefore, and repent.” Why do we need Jesus? This is a crazy question for us, “Christians,” but there are literally millions out there, that have no earthly idea why we need a Saviour. Well, in the beginning God created Adam and He created Eve from Adam’s rib and placed them on this earth. They were to replenish the earth and live in their natural bodies for eternity. God had also created the serpent when He created all the animals and God had given Adam and Eve one command, they were not to eat of the tree of knowledge. The serpent deceived Eve, because she was the weaker of the two. She ate of the fruit and then had Adam to do the same. God warned them that if they disobeyed Him they would surely die. The death God was talking about was not a natural death, but an eternal separation from Him. After Adam and Eve grew older their natural bodies died a physical death like we do now, but something else happened at that time. Their souls did not go to be with God, but went into a place where Satan had control. This place referred to, in the Bible, was “Abraham’s Bosom.” There’s no record that Adam and Eve ever repented of their sin, but if they did, their souls were trapped in this place held captive by Satan. If they never repented, their souls went to Hell, where they still remain in torment. God’s Law was that blood had to be sacrificed for sin, because when Adam and Eve saw they were naked, after they had sinned, God had to kill innocent animals to make them clothes. Due to man’s disobedience, God knew He had to send a sinless sacrifice for all the righteous souls being held captive. God so loved mankind that He sent His only begotten Son, “Jesus”, to live a sinless life and die on a Cross for us. The Bible teaches us, that all we need is a redeemer. †
Treasures In Heaven
God’s Law of sowing and reaping is one that is either misused or misunderstood. Many so called preachers, misuse this Law trying to gain riches here on earth. They continually convince people to give, so they will gain. This is not the purpose of God’s Law. We are to give, so others will gain. When we pay our tithes, we are only being obedient to God’s command. He tells us in John, “If you love me keep my commandments.” In the Old Testament, God tells us in the book of Malachi, Chapter 3, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there might be meat in my house.” Many believe that tithing is Old Testament doctrine, under the Mosaic Law and not for today, but this is not true. In Genesis 14:18-20, Abraham tithed to Melchizedec before Moses had been given the Law. God has always required 10% for the church to remain open, so souls can be fed the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now, let’s look at the New Testament. Jesus Christ, Himself, told the Scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 23:23, that they paid their tithes in the things that they received, but they had omitted more important things in showing judgment and mercy and faith. Then Christ goes on to tell them not to quit tithing, but to do all. Paul tells us in I Corinthians 16:1, to gather all the collections for the saints on the first day of the week, which is Sunday, contrary to what most think. Sunday has always been the first day of the week. Not only did he tell the Corinthians, but he told the Galatians also. In the Old Testament, the Son of God and thee Apostle Paul tells us to pay tithes and offerings, don’t you think we should be obedient? However, we should give out of love for Christ and others. We know that the Word of God tells us in II Corinthians 9:6, that if we sow bountifully, we shall reap bountifully and if we sow sparingly, we shall also reap sparingly. This is God’s Law. He will Bless those that give and He will Bless according to their hearts. A person that gives much isn’t greedy, but he that robs God, is selfish and cannot expect God’s Blessings upon him and his household. We must determine, in our hearts, to give so others can be saved and this will place our Treasures in Heaven. †
