Each of us, must remember that God has given His Children the gift of the Holy Ghost. Paul told Timothy in, II Timothy 1:6, “Stir up the gift of God which is in thee.” Paul knew that we, “Christians”, would have many battles to fight and he gave us this scripture to remind us that we must use the gift given to us, which has the power to win every battle. Paul knew that in the last days, many would follow their fleshly desires and be deceived. We have many preachers, today, that will preach 90% truth and 10% lie to convince people to follow deception. There are millions that confess Jesus as their Lord, but they have never had a personal relationship with Him. Paul told Timothy to stand against the principalities and powers that would come against him. He must rebuke, reprove, and exhort in season and out of season. This tells us that we know not the day nor the hour when we will be tested. Paul taught Timothy to be ready at all times. Paul never wanted Timothy to let his guard down. He instructed him, “To study to shew himself approved unto God.” (II Timothy 2:15) There are thousands of people that have their own opinions and interpretations of the Bible, however, God has never written or spoken, “Yes when He meant No”. Read God’s Word and take it for what it says. If God says something was an abomination to Him then, it is still an abomination to Him today. He tells us in Malachi 3:6, “That He is Lord and He changes not.” We have to keep ourselves alert and prepared at all times. This means we must study, pray and seek wisdom from the Holy Ghost. God teaches us in John 14:26, “He will send the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost and He will teach us all things.” As Paul was a father like symbol to Timothy, God is our Heavenly Father and just as Paul wanted Timothy to be worthy of his calling, God wants us to be worthy. This is why he gives us written instructions and also sends the Holy Ghost to teach us. We are to share the message of hope to everyone the Lord places in front of us. We have to make certain we’re ready to witness everywhere we go. Can you imagine how many souls have been saved because, someone printed the Holy Bible? If we hadn’t had this vital information none of us, would have known about Salvation. We hope we can get the point across to everyone we meet and especially to those reading this letter. Your Salvation was FREE. Jesus paid the entire price for it. From the time you were born, until the time you were saved, Jesus paid for every sin you committed. He tells us, in His Word, that there is no more sacrifice for sin, so if you commit sin after you’re saved, you will be chastised, which means you will be corrected. Jesus tells us in Revelation 3:19, “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.” He also tells us why in I Corinthians 11:31-32, “For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.” God doesn’t want any of His people to perish. If we would take a very close look at how we live, look, act and behave, we would know that we’re not doing God’s Will and we would correct our lives. Therefore, if we would judge ourselves, we would not have to be judged by God and be chastised. Your deeds and works are where you earn your treasures and rewards. When we do works to glorify ourselves, we lose rewards, but we are still saved and sealed until the day of redemption. (I Corinthians 3:13-15, Ephesians 1:13-14) †
Who Do We Really Serve?
Over the years, we’ve met many people, and we’ve made many friends. What hurts us the most is to see so many worship the Lord with their mouth and yet have Him so far from their heart. We see people everywhere place their jobs, families, finances and many other things before God. What most people don’t realize is, God is watching and He totally sees what’s happening. Anytime we allow things to come before our worshipping God, it becomes more important to us than God Himself. Understanding completely that God wants us happy and blessed but also knowing that we’re not to allow anything to come between us and God “Jehovah”. God has to come first in our lives always. We all need to make certain that we take time to go to the church of our choice, the one that we have prayed over and the one God has placed us in. We must make sure that even though we are blessed financially, we don’t forget where our blessings come from. Always remember, it’s not your talent, nor your doings, that brought your blessings, it is and has always been your obedience to God. Once we try to take credit for what we have accomplished in life, we had better watch out, because God will remove that which hinders our walk with Him. When He made the Command, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me,” He truly meant it. Over the years, we’ve seen people come to us, flat broke about to declare bankruptcy. The church would pray and they began to serve and trust God and He would turn everything around for them. A little while later, they didn’t need to come to church on Sunday mornings or Sunday nights and then it was they didn’t need to come at all. Later, things would go wrong and they couldn’t understand why. The same is also true for healings. When it is needed they come running. When the healing takes place, they forget the One who did the healing for them. It’s sad, but only prayer for these individuals seems to work because they will not listen to man. †
